Pushbutton’s spring summer collection at the prestigious Seoul Fashion Week presents luxurious beach wear, with panama hats and futuristic 5th element inspired tube tops floating on the runway in a whimsical and daring presentation. Bright yellow houndstooth in terry cloth rise over the collection like a dawn over a presupposed well earned stay at some far away tropical resort, and sublime, sensual sheer fabrics hint at the cocktail fueled poolside afterparty later. The two toned color combination of pale sky blue and fiery lipstick gloss red remind us of the designer’s popsicle inspired incantation some years ago, but the overall pop visual effect appeals to our inner longing for ice cream floats on Sunday and cotton candy at Cony Island. One has to wonder if the designer binge watches anime series in one sitting, as many of the jumpsuit-esque outfits and catlike Gentle Monster sunglasses seem to come straight off the pages of epic manga or more superior Korean web comics. We will let you the reader settle that debate. We are fans of the Noblesse series ourselves.
