Munsoo Kwon’s 2016 Spring Summer collection draws its inspiration from “Guieoh”, a Korean urban trend where the young flee the city and all of its technology and flock to the less hurried, and rustically simple life of a rural fishing village. Subtle, smart details of loose fisherman pants, combined with fish tail emblems tucked away into suit pockets, air mesh fabrics contribute to a sporty, tailored aesthetic of a modern fishing village. PVC tape in bright neon colors pay homage and allude to the humble rod of the fisherman. Munsoo Kwon’s penchant for crisp and finely tailored outwear still gives us flashbacks of stylish urban streetwear, while still remaining relaxed enough for the modern gentleman living in remote fishing villages everywhere.
