Zombies. Zombies everywhere! In the latest luxurious chapter of elite streetwear brand KYE, designer Kathleen Kye has plunged the depths of the human soul, and has created a fashion essay on the living dead, the “zombies” who struggle with the predatory time demands of our modern age. Ghostly, zombie themed make up reminiscent of Tim Burton’s “Corpse Bride” contrasted perfectly with the electric lime, royal blue, red faux furs and flared olive green velvet and velour silhouettes. Iron Maiden’s terrifyingly wondrous zombie mascot Eddie also graced this runway with a signature cameo appearance on graphic unisex prints and tee’s emblazoned with the words “IN KYE WE TRUST.” Curiously, we also saw the MA-1 Bomber Jacket trend show up on this runway, and we were absolutely entranced by model Irene Kim’s completely feminine, and swag heavy silky pink MA-1 street ensemble. We later spotted the same sexy outfit on the instagram of teen wundermodel Hailey Baldwin!
With the designer’s marketing savvy for catering to celebrity clientele, including the likes of Rihanna, successfully executing 5 consecutive seasons at New York Fashion Week, and the corporate charming of Samsung, we expect to see more from KYE in the future.
